Our Sun is just as important
today as it has been throughout the history of
the universe. It is the most significant influence
in our Solar System and its energy is all powerful.
Its core converts over four million ton of matter
into energy every second. It is an absolute life
force which provides us with its natural energy.
It allows our planet and all life on it with
an ability to grow and the chance to radiate
and shine. Basically, our Sun is simply the highest and
most majestic symbol of life as we may ever know!
When the Solar System was created, the same Super Nova effected the creation of our Sun. The Sun's solar activity then played a huge part in the evolution of the Solar System. It is also the most influential element to our planets outer atmosphere. Not only is our Sun the most extraordinarily powerful influence in our history, it is simply incredible when its energy abounds. It is a constantly active, magnetic and powerful. It is actually one massive hydrogen bomb! The Sun's Corona blasts out into space for millions of kilometers. The heat that reaches us travels at the speed of light, and is termed as infrared radiation. It only takes about eight minutes to travel about 150 million kilometers to Earth. The Suns dependable solar winds deliver it's energy throughout our solar system every day!
Compared to Earth, the Sun is absolutely gigantic in size! However, it is only a baby in proportion to many more stars in the Universe. Astronomers have classified it as a typical dwarf star, measuring about 1.5 million kilometers across. To give a comparison, Antares is one of the largest known stars in the part of the Universe in which our Solar System belongs. It is about three hundred and thirty times the size of our Sun.
